For Chrome and Edge · Google Meet · Teams · Zoom

A teleprompter that lives in your browser.

ScriptCue for Chrome and Edge puts your script over a meeting running in a tab. On Microsoft Teams web, its caption-sync beta can follow your spoken words instead of scrolling at a speed you had to guess. Meet, Zoom and other sites keep reliable fixed-speed scrolling.

Available for Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
One subscription covers the extension and the Windows desktop app

[ Chrome and Edge · in the browser ]

Your script, in the tab you are already in.

Two minutes, start to finish — the overlay on a live page, the controls worth knowing, the script library, and the floating window for the meetings a browser cannot reach.

2 min 17 · 1080p · no sound — every caption is on screen
  • A see-through overlay on top of the meeting, in the same tab
  • Teams web caption-sync beta: the script follows your voice, not a clock
  • Click-through, so your clicks reach the meeting underneath
  • A floating window for meetings in the Teams or Zoom desktop apps
Why a browser version at all

Because half your meetings never leave the tab.

The desktop app floats over anything on Windows. The extension goes one better in the one place a desktop app is blind: inside the page itself.

▤

It follows you on Teams web

Turn captions on in Microsoft Teams web and the beta reads them locally. Slow down and it waits. Skip a paragraph and it catches up. No words-per-minute guessing, no nudging the speed mid-sentence. Read the limits →

Clicks pass straight through

Turn on click-through and the panel stops taking your mouse — you can mute, raise a hand or open the chat with the script still in front of you. The control bar stays live, so there is always a way back.

◑

Fades into the call

Panel opacity and text opacity are separate sliders on purpose: the panel can dissolve into the meeting while the words on it stay perfectly readable.

Caption sync · beta

What the beta does, and what it does not.

It is the newest thing here and the only part that depends on another company's page staying the shape it is today. So here it is in full, before you buy anything.

It is not part of what a subscription buys. Caption sync is a beta we are still testing. Subscribers can switch it on, but please do not subscribe for it: it may change, and it may be withdrawn. Everything else on this page is what you are paying for, and none of it depends on captions.

  • Microsoft Teams web only. Not Google Meet, not Zoom, and not the Teams desktop app. On every other site ScriptCue scrolls at the speed you set, which is the part that always works.
  • You turn Teams' own live captions on. ScriptCue reads the captions Teams already shows in your browser. With them off there is nothing for it to follow.
  • It runs about five seconds behind you. That is how long Teams takes to publish a caption, and ScriptCue cannot be quicker than the thing it is reading.
  • It is a beta, and it is not guaranteed. Teams can change its caption layout whenever it likes. We have tested on personal Teams (teams.live.com); work and school tenants (teams.microsoft.com) use the same captions but we have not been able to test one, so treat it as unproven there.
How it works

Nothing to configure, nothing running in the background.

Add your scripts once

Type them in, or import .txt, .md and .html. They live in the extension, not on the meeting site, and not on our servers.

Click the toolbar button

The prompter is injected into whatever page you are on, only when you ask for it. ScriptCue requests no site permissions when you install it.

Choose captions or fixed speed

On Microsoft Teams web, the caption-sync beta follows what you say. On Meet, Zoom and everywhere else it scrolls at the pace you set.

What it costs

Three scripts free. The professional tools are a subscription.

One ScriptCue subscription covers the extension and the Windows desktop app — £9/month or £59/year. There is no licence key to paste; the extension signs in with your purchase email and a six-digit code, the same in Chrome and Edge.

✓

Free, forever

The overlay on any site, three saved scripts, the editor, the reading guide, text, Markdown and HTML import, and the floating window.

★

With a subscription

Unlimited saved scripts, Word and PDF import, rich formatting and the timer. Subscribers can also switch on the Teams web caption-sync beta — still being tested, and not part of what you are paying for.

⌘

And the desktop app

The same subscription unlocks ScriptCue for Windows, which overlays any application — including the Teams and Zoom desktop clients.
